Of Surprises…?

Filed under: Uncategorized — theinkhorn @ 11:12 am

Globetrotting cyclist Greg Browning’s bike has been found. It was stolen when he chained it outside Ngee Ann City. Have no fear, the Singapore Police Force is on the case. After all, he IS a mysterious foreign visitor who visited our lovely island, only to fall victim to theft. If you lost your bike, what do you think your odds are of the police finding it? Well surprise! The Englishman’s Condor was found.

In fact, quite a number of surprises today. PKR’s potential self-destruction, surprise! North and South Korea’s latest talks break down, surprise! The homeless in Singapore housed in flats and not being allowed to even cook or bring in bed frames, SURPRISE!

The only genuine surprise is the popularity of the iMussolini iPhone application. Who would’ve thought that Italians still worshipped an anti-semitic, fascist ruler? To be fair, he is an important part of history. I don’t want to give the Italians too much credit, but I believe they would be able to separate between admiring a politician’s historic speeches, and revering Fascism. People love to talk about how the world would’ve turned out if people like Mussolini and Hitler never existed. The truth is without them, many lessons would not have been learned. After all, for every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction.

  1. Your views on fascism. That’s quite rich coming from a singaporean who’s country, government, and opposition has been ‘swarmed’ by fascists;) But that said, I do agree with your point on Mussolini. But at least, there were people to beat him to death, whereas in singapore, they’re campaigning for parliament. Hilarious don’t you think.

  2. A tragic sort of humour, ed. Along the lines of candy-striping a cancer ward.

  4. I must have overlooked it. Thanks for pointing it out Wilson. Corrections made. If anything, makes it more impressive.
